Film Friday: New Years Eve

We had a blast New Years Eve with our friends and I decided to make a movie!  This is actually the first year that we did anything to celebrate New Years since, probably, college.  Chris usually works until 11:30 or so on New Years Eve and get[...]

Film Friday: Let it Snow

Last Friday, we woke up to a blanket of fresh snow.  I had heard rumblings of expected snow mixed with rain in the days prior, but I'll admit I thought that meant mostly rain with a few miniscule snowflakes mixed in -- after all it was sti[...]

Film Friday: “Yoga” With Two

We made a movie!  A simple one, but hey, something good enough to share for Film Friday, and that is pretty darn exciting. I enjoyed watching all of our old videos last week after we filmed Nora's birthday interview and so I decided I might[...]

Film Friday: Little Sack of Sugar

This ridiculously cute and adorable baby girl will be three months old tomorrow.  And, oh, does she melt my heart.  I don't have any weight or length info to report because we're still waiting on our insurance to be set up, but e[...]

Film Friday: Thanksgiving

I'm sneaking in a post this morning, and it's a Film Friday post!  I haven't made a video for a long time, mostly because I haven't been shooting a lot of footage because it's hard to do since I don't actually have a video camera.  Ev[...]

Film Friday: A Dinner Conversation

I was going through some videos from this summer and I found this clip from one of my dinner table conversations with Nora.  We were talking about being a grown up when I decided to get out the camera (hence the "I told you already!" when I ask[...]

Film Friday: Nantucket 24

Sort of last minute back in October, I heard about the Nantucket 24 project, a project which invited anyone on island to shoot footage on the day of October 8th and submit it to be edited into a movie.   It's sounded like a cool pro[...]

Film Friday: Twice as Nice

For a couple days now, I have been helping out a friend and watching her daughter.  Miss C and Nora are best buddies and have been having a blast playing together every afternoon.(In fact, Nora was so excited about Miss C coming over on Thu[...]

It's that time again... Girl Scout cookies! And this year we have two selling. Help them meet their cookies sales goals by ordering online.

If you live nearby, choose girl delivery and help get cookie boxes out of our garage... Otherwise we're going to be giving them Girl Scout Cookies for birthday and Christmas presents all year.

Bus stop selfie with Nora. This week she moved from her tiny charter school with only 18 eighth graders to the public middle school with over 200. And now she rides the bus.

The charter school wasn't challenging her enough, has a huge percentage of students who are disruptive in the classroom, and has been having trouble keeping teachers. Last year she loved it. But this year it was one thing after another, so right before Thanksgiving she and I went to go tour our neighborhood middle school, and she immediately wanted to make the switch.

We've never had a kid in public school and I was nervous about how the transition would go from such a small school to a big one, but so far she's loving it and is glad she decided to move schools. It helps that she knows kids there already from her dance team. Hopefully she'll still be happy when she starts getting homework. Coming from a no homework school that may be a shock to us all.

Halloween 2022. Two witches, a murderous cat, and a creepy Victorian doll.

Zara's costume was my favorite this year - Nora did her makeup and she wore my flower girl dress from my mom and step-dad's wedding. She might have worn it better. 😂
