Sweet Nephew, Wade

Loving on my tiny nephew who I helped bring into the world on Sunday. I was a doula for his birth, as I was for his older brother’s and sister’s births. It was the most intense and stressful of the births I’ve participated in over the past few years, but all ended well and mom and baby are home and doing great.

It’s such an honor to be invited to support a birth and watch a new life enter the world. I definitely missed a calling – in another life I could have happily been a midwife.

My heart feels like it’s bursting with love and joy when I look at him.

Beautiful photos! And it’s still too early to say it’s a missed opportunity. I would think that some of the best midwives are “women of a certain age.” 🙂 Maybe it’ll come to you when you’re an empty nester!

I have had that thought! It would be a good second career when we don’t have kids at home, and I can handle a more unpredictable schedule.
