Sewing
Sewing is one of the hobbies I don’t have much time for these days, but still love. Before business growth goals took precedence, I had a goal of sewing at least one thing weekly – these posts showcase some of the things I made during the time when my sewing machine rarely left the dining room table.

First Day of Kindergarten & Back to School Sewing
Tuesday was Nora’s first day of kindergarten. She is gone from us five full days per week from 8:30-3, learning in a wonderful Montessori school that just opened here in town. Since her birthday is in September, there was some discussion about waiting another year before starting school (two of her friends that are older…

Halloween Wyoming Style
I can’t resist taking a moment to post a photo of my two girls today. Nora was a scarecrow and Zara was a crow for Halloween. Nora decided long ago that she wanted to be a scarecrow, which was just fine by me — super cute and also super easy to make: she already had…

I think I Might Be Nesting
I hope all of you who celebrate Christmas had a wonderful little break. I’ve been working away trying to get websites finished, several of which are behind schedule despite my best efforts. I’m still glad I did my pre-baby special (I got some really great clients and projects out of it), but I also learned…

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins
Halloween is only a week away and I can’t quite believe that I made it this long without talking about pumpkins…because I love pumpkins. Pumpkins we eat: (that’s my pumpkin stew) at awesome pumpkin themed potluck parties. Locally grown pumpkins we carefully choose (sometimes by testing their worthiness as a seat) and bring home.…

Sunday Report Card
I’m up way too late considering that Nora and I are going off island tomorrow for a very rare vacation. We are flying to Kansas City where we are so excited to get to see a ton of family from both my mom’s side and my dad’s side. I’m just about done packing (just a…

Sneak Peak: Nora’s Holiday Dress
We had a beautiful and wonderful solstice today. I can’t wait to tell you all about it…tomorrow — for now, I’m beat! I did want to share pictures of this year’s holiday dress that I made for Nora (a tradition I started last year). I’m so happy with how this dress turned out, and how…

The Report on Winter Holidays
The holidays are upon us, and I’ve been planning and prepping in every free moment. It’s amazing the difference this time around; last year at this time, we were debating and discussing, wondering what traditions we want to create in our family and how to mesh them with those of our parents and siblings. If…

30 Days of Thanks: Report Card
How is Thanksgiving the week after next? How are we already 13 days into November and this little project of thankfulness? I was just talking today with my friend Laura about how fast the fall has zoomed by. But, I guess, time flies when you’re having fun, right? Newest Website Launch And have I been…

30 Days of Thanks: Report Card
Happy Sunday! I’m pleased as punch to be writing this report card because I feel like I’ve been so spot on lately. The house is in a state of cleanliness I feel good about more often than not. Through I didn’t go the last two weeks because of Chris’ schedule, I now have a regular…

Mini Coloring Pack
Because we’re on a tight budget, we don’t have a lot of extra money for birthday gifts for all of Nora’s little friends. When we got invited to Miss. B’s birthday party, I was wracking my brain deciding what to do until I decided to spend a couple minutes rifling through my fabric stash. I…

Report Card
The biggest accomplishment of this week? Nora’s room is finally finished! You may have noticed when I unveiled her newly decorated bedroom that she didn’t have anything besides a sheet on her bed. I was having a really hard time deciding what get for her bed. Many toddler bedding sets have characters on them, which are not my…
