30 Days of Thanks: The Right to Vote

If you follow me on Facebook or are one of the 92 people (and counting!) participating in my Facebook 30 Days of Thanks Event, you already know what I’m thankful for today.  Like most of us across America, today I am thankful to live in a place which gives me the opportunity to participate in my political system and have a say in who my elected officials are.

And more than that, as a mother, I am thankful that I live in a country where my children will have the ability to vote, no matter who matter their gender or who they grow up to be.  There may be things I would change about our government and our country, there may even be times when Chris and I fantasize about expatriating — but through it all, I am still incredibly thankful to have been born into a time and place where I, even as a woman, am given equal opportunity in our political system.
