Right now, one of little miss Nora’s favorite games is hide’n’seek. She would probably play for an hour if she had a willing companion. She loves running through the house mimicking what we do, shouting, “Ready or not, here I come!” and asking, “Is she in the vacuum? …No,” as she looks for me; her joy at being able to hide from us (as we pretend not to see her) is almost overwhelming. She makes us laugh, too, because there’s some parts Nora just doesn’t get yet, and it’s rather hilarious. She loves to hide in the same spot that we just vacated, loves to run into the bathroom (her favorite hiding place) slamming the door and giving herself away, and can’t stop from shouting out her hiding spot as you pretend to look elsewhere.
Oh, Nora staying home with you just gets more fun every day. I think I might be a little bit heartbroken when you want to play with me anymore.
P.S.
This is pretty much the normal state of my house…half cleaned, laundry waiting to be folded, and toys strewn all about…because I would rather play than clean, always.
