Road Warrior Creative has been around for a few years, but the company recently set up shop in Georgetown, where owners Chris and Amber Hinds intend to continue bringing their unique marketing ideas to the masses.

Mr. Hinds, chief operating officer and food marketing evangelist at Road Warrior Creative, said the digital marketing agency originally was founded in 2015 in Colorado by his wife and business partner, Ms. Hinds. She had worked as a freelancer doing online marketing for clients on a one-to-one basis, but her business grew to a point where she needed Mr. Hinds’ help.

“I started helping,” he said. “My background is in culinary arts originally. I am a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America and I have a business degree. In 2016, I joined the business full time.”

The Hindses now use their backgrounds to work with food brands, social good companies and nonprofit organizations.

“We have clients in eight or nine different states at this point,” Mr. Hinds said. “I do a lot of the food styling and food photography type work with food brands, and Amber does a lot in the nonprofit and social good sphere, which was her background before starting this company. We also have four full-time employees on our team. We all work remotely from offices across the United States.”

When Ms. Hinds started Road Warrior Creative, the Hinds lived in Fort Collins, Colorado. While the company no longer maintains a physical presence there, it does still have several clients in that area. The company now has a physical location in Georgetown, at the Cantera Business Park on Highway 29 near Cimarron Hills Golf and Country Club.

“I was born and raised between Georgetown and Austin, while Amber is originally from Iowa,” Mr. Hinds said. “I have quite a bit of roots here, so we decided to move back. We moved back about a year ago and brought the business with us and expanded into this market.”

Road Warrior Creative’s office at Cantera includes a large kitchen and food photography studio area, which has helped them gain local clients already. Mr. Hinds said they are working with two companies in Austin and one nonprofit in Georgetown.

While much of Road Warrior Creative’s work with clients is done remotely, a unique aspect of the business makes it much easier for the Hindses to meet with clients face-to-face. The Hindses have a 34-foot travel trailer they converted into a mobile office — also an homage to the company’s name. The exterior is fully branded and includes the company’s social media handles.

“We realized not only could we have unprecedented personal freedom, but we could also provide a better value to our clients by having a geographically diverse mindset,” Mr. Hinds said. “If you’re a company in a smaller area like Georgetown or Jarrell and you don’t want to have to hire a firm from Dallas or Austin, or if you’re in a more remote state without a lot of digital marketing talent, we can come to you.”

Mr. Hinds added that he and his wife are big believers in travel and personal freedom as it relates to business, as well as meeting clients.

“We hit the road every summer,” he said. “We take our three kids too and we have fun experiences, but we also meet our clients. We feel like this gives us a huge leg up over other marketing agencies that are more geographically locked. These life experiences we gain also help us bring more interesting things to the table.”

Clients Road Warrior Creative has vary in the food and beverage and nonprofit/social good spaces. On the food side, the company frequently works with Tommy’s Superfoods, an Austin-based company that produces non-GMO, premium frozen vegetables that are sold everywhere from H-E-B to Walmart. And on the social good side, Road Warrior Creative works frequently with Colorado State University’s diversity office.
