Easter Scavenger Hunt 2024
I’m still carrying on the tradition my stepmom’s mom, Grandma White, did every year at Easter. Clues in eggs that lead to a bigger prize. Now that the girls are getting older, I can make the scavenger hunt clues a lot more challenging, so it’s extra fun. Looking forward to seeing if any of these…

Pocket Dog
We’re feeling very thankful for Pocket the last week after she had a medical emergency and had to spend two days at the animal hospital. She was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, or IMHA, isย an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks its own red blood cells. Currently she’s taking a bunch of different pills…

Making a New Website
I decided that this website was long overdue for a content and theme overhaul, so I sat down at the kitchen table this weekend and made it happen. Vivienne was playing around with my phone and snapped this photo, so I thought I’d share it. Longer post on the new website coming soon.

Hiking with Vivi
Vivienne didn’t have school today, but the other girls did, so I got to spend time with her one-on-one. We went for a hike near Lake Georgetown, and she was a champโshe walked more than four miles!

Bus stop selfie with Nora. This week she moved from her tiny charter school with only 18 eighth graders to the public middle school with over 200. And now she rides the bus. The charter school wasn’t challenging her enough, has a huge percentage of students who are disruptive in the classroom, and has been…

Halloween 2022
Halloween 2022. Two witches, a murderous cat, and a creepy Victorian doll. Zara’s costume was my favorite this year – Nora did her makeup and she wore my flower girl dress from my mom and step-dad’s wedding. She might have worn it better.

Meet Amelia
Visiting my sweet tiny niece. I had the honor of being the doula at her birth and helping her come into the world. Her parents did amazingly (especially her mama) and everyone is excited to have another little girl in the family.

Addie’s Hair Cut
Before and after. The girl who has been obsessed with Rapunzel since she was tiny and only a few haircuts in her life, finally agreed to getting a real hair cut. I think it turned out pretty cute…and way easier to brush.
