My mother-in-law has an amazing green thumb. Every time I visit her house I am amazed at her beautiful garden. I, on the other hand, have a weed patch in my backyard and one Christmas cactus attempting to survive in a pot in the house that’s near drought conditions from lack of watering. I actually really enjoy planting things and years back – in Nantucket and Wyoming- had gardens that were lovingly tended. As business took off and we grew from a two kid family to 3 then 4, something had to give and the house and garden was definitely it. One of my goals between now and when I turn 40 (just 3.5 years from now!) is to transform the business to a place where it’s running more sustainably with less on my shoulders and more on employees. I’m hoping to have more time for focusing on our environment and living slower again.
