Even in storage, with everything off, our battery bank drains really quickly. My dad had a solar panel from his camper that he gave us so we tried leaving that hooked up to the trailer to see if it could keep up with our battery drain. We were hoping that it would be powerful enough to not only keep things charged when the trailer was in storage but also maybe make it possible for us to camp longer off the grid without using our generator. Alas, I think we’ve determined that we need like 5 more solar panels (or something) for this monster trailer.
Anyone effectively using solar for long periods? I’d be curious to know how many panels you have and how well they keep your batteries charged. .
