Balancing Work and Exercise in Entrepreneurship

The closest we get to woods in central Texas…

I didn’t meet my step goal every day last week.  I was in shouting distance on Friday, but we met friends at a brewery and I wasn’t motivated to get the extra hundred steps on the treadmill afterwards.  It was close enough, so I could have called that a win, until Sunday brought with it a trip to the office and a 9 hour work day, which was brutally seated.  I didn’t even break 2500.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced over the last few years has been figuring out how to balance running the business with all the other things.  It’s too easy when you’re an entrepreneur to equate time put in with money or growth. It creates this mentality that any spare moment is a moment to cram in my work. I’m trying my best to combat all the sitting with neighborhood jaunts and walks in the woods.  It may be rockier that han I expected, but I’m not ready to give up yet…
