Visiting the Statue of Liberty in NYC

in
Going through photos from our trip to NYC, and I thought I’d share a few of Lady Liberty. It rained or was foggy and overcast just about the entire time we were in New York, but that didn’t stop us from doing some tourist-y sightseeing. Did you know that we lived in the Poughkeepsie, NY area for 3 years while Chris was in culinary school @theculinaryinstituteofamerica? #truth Here’s what’s funny (sad?) about that: Poughkeepsie is only 90 minutes north of the city and you can ride the train back and forth rather easily. I used to ride the train down for work on a semi-regular basis and drove down with friends a couple of times, but even with how close we were, Chris *never* went to the city the entire time we lived in New York, outside of going to the airport. Mostly that was because going to the city is expensive (easily a couple of hundred dollars for a day) and we couldn’t afford it. We kept saying we wanted to make it work, but as recent college grads and him getting his second degree, we just couldn’t swing it. Eight years after we moved away from New York, we finally got to go and spend a day in the city doing many of the things we never could do when we lived there. I remember when we moved away from New York we regretted that we hadn’t figured out how to afford to go to the Statue of Liberty, and now, thanks to our business @roadwarriorwp, we were finally able to do it. It wasn’t even until halfway through this year that we knew we were going to be able to go. You never know what the future might bring! #statueofliberty #latergram #libertyisland #nyc #newyork
