Perfection

I’m still working on Miss Zara’s birth story, but I wanted to share a quick update on how we’re doing.  And, honestly, the title of this post says it all.  I couldn’t imagine a better beginning to our little entry into the world.  Everything about this experience, from the birth to the past two days are even better than I could have imagined.

I keep thinking about how at this point after Nora’s birth I was still in the hospital “birth center.”  I was wearing my own clothes, but not sleeping in my own bed, eating my own food, or existing in my own comfortable environment.  And, on top of that, I was so, so, so much more uncomfortable.  I cannot believe how much better I feel after this birth than I did following Nora’s birth.  It’s incredible.  So here I am, two days postpartum, at home with my two(!) daughters, baking birthday cakes

 for a fun family celebration.  

Nora has been amazing, just as I knew she would be.  Of course there are moments here and there when she reminds us that she needs something to do or someone to spend time with her, but overall she is thrilled and excited to be the big sister and seems to have completely forgotten that she wanted Peach to be a boy.

Of course, it’s not hard to be a excited about being a big sister when it comes with coconut layer cake!
