Ingredients
- 1 16oz package Newman-O’s (a.k.a. organic, HFCS-free oreos)
- 6oz cream cheese, softened
- dark or semi-sweet chocolate (I used approx. 3/4 bag Ghirardelli 60%)
Directions
Put 30 Newman-O’s in a food processor (that leaves three for you to eat!!!) and pulse until finely crumbled. Add the cream cheese and process until combined; the mixture will be slightly sticky and easily shaped. Roll the mixture into 1″ balls and place on wax paper covered cookie sheet. Then, begin to form the shape of a kiss, flattening the bottom and forming a point at the top. (Mine ended up about 1.5″ tall). Place cookie sheet into freezer for at least 15 minutes.
Melt chocolate in small saucepan or double boiler, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Dip “kisses” one at a time into chocolate, covering on all sides. Tap off extra and slide them off spoon onto wax paper covered cookie sheet to dry. When dry, individually wrap in tin foil, adding a strip of paper with a message if desired. Refrigerate and enjoy!
Makes approximately 36-40 kisses.
