First the baby news: Last night, Nora slept from 12:30 am until 7:30 am. Holy cow, it was great! (And as a result, I’ve been doing laundry and I even swept the kitchen floor – yay for feeling well rested!)
So, yesterday was Chris’ first official day of work at Painter’s Tavern. Remember them? He was initially offered a sous chef position in July, but he turned it down because he was hoping for a better offer. Well, the person they hired didn’t work out, so George, the Executive Chef, called Chris back with a second offer just a couple weeks ago and he accepted. Chris has officially joined the ranks of the full-time employed! We’re excited, because he got a good offer and he really likes George, his boss. Chris will be overseeing the line cooks, doing all of the ordering for the restaurant, and has the ability to get a few things on the menu (he already has two specials planned for the next two weeks).
We’re going to celebrate by looking at cars to replace the Sebring. We’re thinking a small SUV might be good – something with lots of room for all of Nora’s gear, plus a spot for Pip to sit that isn’t the back seat. Any suggestions?
