New Doctor

I had a great appointment this morning with Margi, a certified nurse midwife in Rhinebeck. She’s very friendly and personable, and made me feel comfortable from the moment she walked in the room – plus the birth center she works with is supposed to be one of the best in the area and will give us a lot of control over how that day goes (more than a hospital). It’s a bit of a drive from our house (35 minutes), but totally worth it, so we’ve officially found our doctor for the big day! I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, which was so exciting it made me laugh. Baby’s heart is still beating away at 168 beats per minute, but Margi says that doesn’t say anything about whether it’ll be a boy or a girl. I guess some old wive’s tales really are just tales…

Chris and I are going back on the 17th for a sonogram (and we’ve been told that the baby will actually look like a person then), so stay tuned for pictures!
