Half birthday girl!
Zara is 7 1/2 today. I made her (vegan) gingerbread cupcakes with lemon buttercream and candied ginger on the top. She’s normally our chocolate girl so I was surprised by the request, but they turned out crazy delicious. It’s the first time that I used this cookbook and I can’t wait to make more. She got three instead of two books this year because I had such a hard time choosing. The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street, One Crazy Summer, and Other Words for home. We’re finishing the first Harry Potter book and then we’ll dive into these, and they all look so interesting that I can’t wait. I think reading aloud with my girls is one of my favorite things in the world.
Gosh, I can’t believe how big she is…
