Our 9th #statecapitol! It just so happens that this year is the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad and the placement of that last golden spike in Utah. We were excited to find out that there was an exhibit at the Capitol building in honor of the anniversary which included the actual golden spike from 1869 and the original resolution authorizing the railroad, signed by President Abraham Lincoln. That made this visit especially cool out of all the Capitol buildings we’ve visited.
We also all agreed that this was one of our favorite buildings – it’s super bright and light inside. Salt Lake City was an equally manicured and beautiful city. We enjoyed walking around at and are definitely putting it on the list of places we might want to spend more time in some day. More pictures in my stories.
