This summer we traveled all around the midwest, from Oklahoma up to North Dakota before heading to the mountains. In each state, we tried to take the girls places where they could learn about the state’s history and economies. We’re all about learning on the road – this is our version of summer camp, after all!
In Kansas and Iowa, that meant giving the girls a taste of #farmlife. Every time I visited my grandmother in #OverlandParkKS as a child, she would always take us to the #DeannaRoseFarmstead, where we got to watch milking demonstrations, feed baby goats bottles, ride horses, and pretty much run free amongst the cutest farm animals. This summer I got to share the farmstead with my three little girls and it was just as magical as I remembered from 20-something years ago.
I’m pretty sure this place cemented my love of farm animals and #farmlifedreams. If you’re ever in the Kansas City area with little ones, it’s well-worth the trip!
Swipe to see the coolest rockstar chicken ever and swipe twice more for laugh… I had a goat friend who thought my shorts looked tasty!
